For anyone considering attending IMSA, one of the most important factors to consider is whether you are ready for the residential environment/ready to be fully independent. I believe that it is crucial for IMSA students to feel fully comfortable living in the dorms and away from their families because it will be very difficult for them to focus on schoolwork and their classes, if they aren’t setting into the IMSA environment properly. However, I do think the IMSA residential life committee did a great thing by reserving the first week of school for hall and other social events, which certainly helps many students get adjusted to the dorms even before classes start. Another factor that I believe is important when considering attending IMSA is to make sure prospective students do a little research into the different clubs and extracurricular activities IMSA has to offer. While IMSA does offer a wide array of sports and clubs, it is highly beneficial for students to see if the extracurricular activities that they are currently participating in, is offered at IMSA. I believe this is important because many times students have spent a considerable number of years in a certain sport or club, and if they are looking to pursue a career in this, it is important to make sure that IMSA offers it.
