Operations and Support Services

Here are many of the service departments within IMSA: Campus Security, IT Helpdesk, IT Engineering, Instructional Technology & Media Center (ITMC), and Procurement Services.

Campus Security

The mission of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy’s Department of Security is to take whatever steps reasonable to ensure the safety and well-being of all IMSA students, faculty, staff and visitors to our campus, as well as developing and maintaining programs and lines of communications with all members of the IMSA community which will ensure their protection as well as that of IMSA property and assets while enforcing IMSA rules and regulations, policies and procedures, and all local, state and federal laws.

Information and Technology Services

IT Helpdesk

The IT Helpdesk deals with desktop computing hardware and software installation and support. The Helpdesk Team is also responsible for providing staff training on both computer-based and web-based software programs.

IT Engineering

The IT Engineering group works primarily behind the scenes to provide a myriad of services to the community, including the creation and operation of core IT services for the IMSA community (email, web, file storage, printing, databases, directory services, etc.); creation and operation of secure, reliable and robust systems; installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure (servers, storage, network, etc.); design and maintenance of software tools; installation and operation of systems providing data to the IMSA community; and creation and maintenance of IT policies, standards and guidelines.

Instructional Technology & Media Center

Instructional Technology & Media Center (ITMC), located in B127, provides the IMSA community with media and audio-visual resources designed to encourage innovative teaching and learning practices and provide an outlet for creativity.

The IMS Team provides curriculum and facility media and AV equipment as well as development, training, consulting, support, and troubleshooting services. Equipment and services are available to IMSA students, staff, and our educational partners for media production, specifically, digital audio, video, and still production and editing, poster production and printing, teleconferencing, videoconferencing, and other media and audio/visual needs.
