Resources for Student Inquiry and Research

In addition to the specific details and guidance provided within the Student Inquiry and Research website, IMSA has some general resources and facilities that may assist with your investigation.

Facilities

The Grainger Center includes a lab space and a workshop room intended for IMSA student use and is readily available after appropriate permission from a SIR faculty member. This space is located in the B-Wing, on the first floor of the IMSA main building.

Resources

IMSA’s Information Resource Center (IRC) has abundant access to books, databases, journals and other reference materials, and staff can provide research assistance. Many books are available that focus on research ethics which characterize the standards of judgment and behavior expected of people when they conduct research investigations and report research findings. Students participating in SIR investigations are responsible for conducting their work in an ethical manner.

Transportation to off-campus investigation sites is made possible based on the schedule available. Many of IMSA’s faculty members support students who participate in the SIR Program.
