The Office of Institutional Research is responsible for collecting and providing data to meet IMSA’s mandatory reporting obligations at the state and federal levels.
Public Accountability Report (PAR)
As a State agency, IMSA is required to submit a Public Accountability Report to the Illinois Comptroller’s Office on an annual basis. The Public Accountability Report is designed to link the information from traditional financial reports of the Illinois government to the performance of state programs. The reporting used in the Public Accountability Report reviews financial and other resources allocated to programs and how those resources have been used to accomplish the program’s goals and objectives, providing information to state government officials and the public in a results-oriented manner.
Illinois Performance Reporting System (IPRS)
All State agencies under the Governor are required to submit performance measures for each of their programs using the Illinois Performance Reporting System (IPRS). IMSA reports graduation and retention rates annually. The Interactive Performance Dashboard allows visitors to the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget (GOMB) website to visualize and explore agency performance measures.
Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC)
The purpose of the U.S. Department of Education (ED) CRDC is to obtain data related to the nation’s public school districts and elementary and secondary schools’ obligation to provide equal educational opportunity. To fulfill this goal, the CRDC collects a variety of information, including student enrollment and educational programs and services data that are disaggregated by race/ethnicity, sex, english learners, and disability. The CRDC is a longstanding and important aspect of ED’s Office for Civil Rights overall strategy for administering and enforcing the civil rights statutes for which it is responsible. This information is also used by other ED offices as well as policymakers and researchers outside of ED.
National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Data Analysis for School Leadership (DASL) (Non-mandatory)
DASL is an online tool independent schools can use to find actionable data related to all aspects of their school operations, including admission, enrollment, salaries, and more. A collaboration of more than 30 associations, DASL is the independent school community’s repository of clean, comprehensive, usable data. In DASL, you can run benchmarking reports to compare your schools’ figures to national or regional figures, or to the customized comparison group of schools that you choose.
