Summer@IMSA

Summer @ IMSA 2022

Registration will open Monday, 3/28 at 12 noon!

The IMSA Student Enrichment Team is bringing a slate of amazing STEM-based summer camps to our communities in the Aurora, Metro East, Normal, and Springfield, IL areas! We will be following all local and national COVID safety guidelines at these programs.

Please excuse our dust as we will have construction this summer at IMSA’s main building. June programs will be held in our main academic building, however the July programs at our Aurora campus may take place in IMSA’s residential buildings. Specific information about drop-off location and procedures will be sent to you prior to the program’s start.  We look forward to improving your future IMSA experience!

As always, if you have any further questions regarding Summer @ IMSA 2022, feel free to reach out to our team at studentenrichment@imsa.edu, 630-907-5987.

Please register your child for the grade they will be entering in the 2022-2023 school year.

The absolute last day to complete your scholarship application and submit any required supplemental materials is May 30, 2022. It is to your benefit to submit your application and these materials sooner as we are awarding scholarships on a rolling basis.

There will be a Chemistry Party happening at IMSA when this popular program returns for the coming summer. Join us as we conduct experiments to explore the cool chemistry behind molecular gastronomy, bath fizzers, and everyone’s favorite: colorful water beads. Our budding chemists will get the chance to write secret messages using “highly classified” chemical solutions, grow their own crystal gardens, and even create (and taste test) their own ice cream recipes! Be sure to join us at Chemapalooza!

Please register your child for the grade they will be entering in the 2022-2023 school year.

IMSA’s weather forecast for Summer 2022 is “Cloudy with a chance of space water pods!” This program gives students the chance to explore the space and weather phenomena that have fascinated humans for centuries. Students will have to “think like an astronaut (or aerospace engineer or meteorologist)” in order to take on a series of space/weather-related challenges including how to design space gear that can withstand the harsh environment of outer space and how to use chemical reactions to launch rockets. Along the way, there will be some close encounters with galactic goo, satellites, and hovercrafts. Come join us for a week that will be out-of-this world!

Join us as we set about a virtual exploration of Computer Aided Design (CAD), 3D Printing, Electronics, and an Introduction to Arduinos! This week will be packed full of various projects that highlight skills we will learn and grow each day! Learn to CAD your own trinket, model, or project, and then make that design come to life as a 3D printed object! We will also learn what microcontrollers like an Arduino are capable of before we try our hand with some simple electronics. This will be an awesome week that will give you a great jumpstart on making and skills you can use for many years to come!

Calling all future medical-students!! This program features a series of practical, hands-on explorations (dissections, modeling, simulations) centered on human anatomy topics that range from the heart and blood, to the bones and muscles! Participants will also engage in a challenging bioengineering project that will allow them to apply engineering principles and practices to the structure and function of the human body.

Please register your child for the grade they will be entering in the 2022-2023 school year.
