Jacqueline Salinas

Admissions Counselor

Jacqueline has worked in education in a variety of roles since graduating from UIUC.  Each role has taught her a variety of things, but most of all, the importance of access and support networks. It is important that residents across the state learn of academic opportunities at IMSA from enrichment all the way through enrollment. Being in admissions, being part of the PROMISE Program, and working with current students as Student Ambassadors provides her with multiple opportunities across various levels to provide that support, but also continue to grow and learn.

She enjoys working on puzzles thanks to lock down! Jacqueline and her husband enjoy taking their Pomeranian, Pepe, on walks around the neighborhood where they get to say hello to IMSA faculty members who live on her block. She also really enjoys taking trips and especially has a fondness for visiting state and national parks. The Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado has been her favorite.

While not a specific memory, one of her favorite days of the year is Sophomore move in. It signals the sign of a new year and new energy coming to IMSA. It’s so exciting to welcome students officially, meet their families, and many times getting to put a face to the name that she has learned so much about!
